I love to combine lettering and illustration. This artwork has both, and because of that, working on this was a treat. The result still lives on my iPad Pro’s background and lock screen today! I made this in January 2021. I can safely say it is one of my favorite pieces despite its relative simplicity of it. It was not in the last place because it was one of the pieces that made me discover my love for illustration in combination with lettering. Something that is part of almost all my artworks today.
I used simple sans-serif lettering and let the illustrations speak for themselves. To create this look, I used a simple fine liner brush in Procreate and applied no color palette to it. I made this after watching Amanda Arneill’s YouTube tutorial, “Create with Me!” Elegant Holiday Gift Tags.
I love the double meaning of using this as my screen image. It’s a literal apple on my Apple device. I know my humor is questionable!
Aside from my questionable sense of humor, I love to create this sort of artwork for your needs, whether it’s for a mural, apparel, stationery, or other applications. This style is highly diverse and can be applied to a wide range of applications.
